We recently visited Peregrine School south of Hobart at Nicholls Rivulet. Peregrine have been kindly assisting us in the establishment of our new centre for learning. Peregrine is a progressive school with a fabulous hands on outdoor education approach which puts the child first. We a fabulous day observing all the fabulous goings on at the school. The teacher to student ratio was very high and there were small groups do a broad range of activities. The place had a really lovely family feel about it. I was particularly impressed to find appropriate remediation taking place for children with Dyslexia, and all sorts of adjustments were made to help with the diverse needs of the young learners. Lots of time was spent out of doors and children were willing to offer up ideas, discuss problems and offer solutions. There was so much to like about the great community at Peregrine.
